Over two years since Ronove made that first introductory blog post, the project has finally reached completion. Yes, that's right. It's been a long time coming, but Higanbana - The Second Night can now be enjoyed in English with our translation patch, available to download from our homepage.
Not only that, but the original Japanese versions required to play Higanbana are now available as digital downloads from MangaGamer.com! A lot of effort has been put into making these games available for you all, so please check out the product pages for The First Night and The Second Night!
I'd like to thank everyone who has been a part of this project, from the translators to the beta testers. Big thanks also go to those of you who have supported us on this long journey. We have completed our mission and are happy to be able to call it a job well done.
Even so, we are aware that although we pride ourselves on the high quality of our releases, there is still room for improvement. Therefore, if you do encounter any problems (bugs, typos, etc.), please let us know in the comments or via our email address below so that we can address these in future versions of our translation.

For now though, please enjoy Higanbana - The Second Night!
Amazing work. Thank you for making this happen.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, guys! You made my day!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for turning this work into English.~
ReplyDeleteI want to thank all of you for your hard work, if there were more people like all of you literature would befit.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finally getting this patch out and even better getting the Japanese versions up to buy at manga gamer.
ReplyDeleteJust want to say, amazing job guys and thanks for all all your work.
ReplyDeleteAs for the game, I can't go into fullscreen and windowed is too small. Is there a way to cha ne this? I'm using the CD-Rom version if that helps.
To enable fullscreen mode, ensure the window is in focus by clicking inside it, then press the 'f' key on your keyboard. In some cases, you may have to press the 'f' key twice if it doesn't work the first time.
DeleteIf it still doesn't work, it would be helpful to know whether you're trying to read The First Night or The Second Night, as well as your operating system (e.g. Windows XP or Mac OS 10.7). Also, if you downloaded the English translation from a different website than ours, it would be important to note since there can be issues with doing that.
That solved it, by just pressing F, thanks.
DeleteThank you guys so much!
ReplyDeleteomg awesome guys. thanks for your efforts
ReplyDeleteits released. such a great news. ^^
ReplyDeletethanks a lot guys.
Thank you so much for translating this. I was rereading the First Night so I'm only now downloading the Second Night, but I'm sure you guys made an awesome job. And I'm really grateful you made a push to have the original easily accesible in English. Just a huge thank you from me <3
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say a huge GIANT thank you to you all for your continued hard work and I cannot wait to play it very very soon <3
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you so much for your efforts in creating the patch!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a problem when trying to make it work though. Whenever I try moving "Higanbana 2 English" onto the folder I had specifically created for the game, the "Higanbana - The Second Night.exe" file gets removed every time because of the anti-virus program I have on my computer. Is there any way I can fix this?
Hi, thanks for your support.
DeleteWe haven't heard of such an issue before, and the solution to this problem would depend on which antivirus software you're using.
Have you tried copying the EXE file separately after moving the patch folder? If you copy the EXE to your Desktop (or other location) first, you may be able to move it back into the patch folder when the original gets removed.
Otherwise, you could try adding an exception to your antivirus software to stop this from happening or otherwise disable this feature. How you'd do this would depend on the software.
I hope you manage to get the patch working soon!

DeleteAnyway, we have no plans to translate Gakkou Youkai Kikou. Copyright issues make a fan translation very unlikely, but we'd love to see it be translated so maybe something can be worked out eventually.
Hmm I thought that it wasn't copyrighted because it wasn't published anywhere else aside from the several volumes of that magazine (and wasn't mention on Ryukishi's site or anywhere else aside from the wikipedia articles).
DeleteSorry about that(
Hi, thanks for the translation! I am already on the last chapter.
ReplyDeleteBut I would like to ask you guys here what about the Second Night. Is it me, or was First waaaaaaaaaaaaay better?
I personally preferred The Second Night, but The First Night is darker, so I can see it being more appealing to some people.
DeleteJust saw that you've actually completed the project...
ReplyDeleteand i'm really proud to be a human being right now
Good job, I've been looking forward to playing these. Just a dumb question why is there a space at the start of every line/paragraph?
ReplyDeleteAsk Ryukishi07. That's how it was in the original Japanese version. :-P You can think of it as indentation, similar to how the first line of paragraphs in English books are often indented.
DeleteI see, I was wondering if it was an aesthetic choice or if it was brought over from the original. It's just unusual for me to look at, but it's not gonna make my experience any worse. Thanks again for the translation :)
DeleteI edited that away. It was a bit annoying
DeleteOH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm... speechless.. I'm following this projects since the start and I can't believe it's finished!! I love you guys so much!!!
